Who Was Mildred Sanders Ruggles?
In this post, we have already mentioned that Mildred gained the limelight for being the daughter to the late founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Mildred Sanders Ruggles is an American female born on Augus 15, 1919. She was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Mildred was the youngest in a family of three children. As for her education, she attended Saint Camillus Academy in Corbin. Other insights about her childhood and how she grew up remain in the dark as she didn’t disclose them.
One thing for sure is that she enjoyed spending time with her father. Even after his death, Mildred was determined to see that her father’s work didn’t stop. She travelled across the United States teaching how to prepare and cook fried chicken, in the KFC restaurants, according to her father’s method. 
Mildred’s Relationship
Although Mildred enjoyed living a private life, details of her marriage were in the public. She met John F. Ruggles Jr., during the first inauguration ceremony of Governor A.B. “Hapy” Chandler.
The two developed a friendship that later paved the way for their love. They then married in 1937. Mildred and her husband then moved to Lexington which is the place they lied until their deaths. The couple welcomed daughter Marlona Ruggles Ice and son John F. Ruggles III of Davie, Fla. Moreover, at the time of her death she was survived by five grandchildren. Mildred died at the old of 91 years.
Meet Mildred Sanders Ruggles’ Father
The late Colonel Harland David Sanders was the father to Mildred Sanders Ruggles. Colonel Harland was born on September 9, 1890 and he lived until his death on December 16, 1980. His reputation revolved around him being an American businessman. However, he mainly stood out for being the founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), a fast food chicken restaurant chain.
Moreover, he also held the role of being the company’s brand ambassador and his name and image still stand as the symbols of the company. Before founding KFC, he held other jobs in his early days. For instance, he worked as a steam engine stoker, insurance salesman, and a filling station operator.
He then started selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant in North Corbin, Kentucky. Later on, he developed his “secret recipe” that blew up and gave him the reputation and career success.
