Orlando was born in Torrance California, where he grew up. While attending Los Alamitos High School, he played as a wide receiver and cornerback. As a senior student, he had 52 receptions for 832 yards.
As a junior, he started 39 of 40 games and achieved 152 tackles and 3.5 sacks. In 2007, he recorded a school single-season and four blocked kicks. He received a scholarship from Boise State University where he focused on honing his skills as a quarterback.
